Let's Keep Our Love Young

I told you twice that when I lie down to sleep at night, in those 15 minutes or more, I think of us. I don’t only think about big things, but also small, silly, playful, and childlike moments we could share. I want to live all those little moments with you that will make our bond feel warm and alive. Let me tell you what I dream about.

First, whenever we meet, I want to hug you for hours. Hours? Maybe too much for a first meeting, as we’ll have so much to do and feel, but it will surely be a long hug. While hugging, I want to weep, not from sadness, but from joy that you are finally in my arms and I am in yours. I want to sit close to you and play with your hair for hours, twisting it around my fingers, making little braids, and then opening them again. You’ll tie your hair, and I will untie it just to annoy you, and then I’ll smile like an innocent child when you give me that “angry but cute” look. I want to hide my face in your hair and fall asleep there.

I want to gently squeeze your cheeks every time you look at me with that shy smile. And when you complain and tell me to stop, I’ll do it again, just to see you pout. Then I will hold your face in my hands and say, “No, these cheeks are mine forever.”

I want to tickle your stomach when you’re in my lap, just to hear you burst into laughter. You will twist and try to get away, but I will catch you and hug you tightly so you can’t escape. Your laughter will be my favorite sound in the world.

When we walk together, I will never let go of your hand. Even if you try to free your hand just to tease me, I will catch it again. I want to feel your soft hand in mine all the time.

Sometimes, I want to rest my head on your lap and close my eyes, waiting for you to softly touch my hair or scold me for being lazy. And other times, I want you to rest your head on my shoulder so I can whisper small things into your ear; silly things, sweet things, or just “I love you” again and again.

I want us to eat together. On our birthday or anniversary, we will cut a cake. I’ll pretend to make you eat a slice, but instead, I’ll eat it myself. I’ll steal a bite almost from your mouth. You will give me that fake serious look, and I will laugh like a child.

I want to hug you from behind to surprise you when you’re standing near a window or doing something. And while you are in my lap, I want to gently pull your nose, tap your forehead, tickle your palms, and kiss your fingertips one by one.

These childish and loving moments are what I want to live with you every day. Not just serious talks or future plans, but endless laughter, teasing, gentle fights, playful games, and thousands of small memories that belong only to us. I want our love to stay young forever, glowing with these little joys.

Your love
